Everyday our feet are in contact with lint, harmful particles, germs and dirt. When we walk barefoot or in socks on carpets, wood and stone floors, we pick up the small particles (this is known as mechanical adhesion). Some of the particles that adhere to our feet are: lint, sand, or floor grout and we carry these particles into our shoes which create friction. This kinetic energy, friction, is created while we walk and the result is a heightened temperature in our shoes. This creates hyperhydrosis of the feet which raises the humidity in shoes. Heat and humidity are the optimum environment for bacteria and germs to grow. Dirt and germs in shoes may cause various diseases. The most common diseases are:-
